lyrics

A N - T I C - A P - I T A
L I - S T C - A T - E R P
I L - L A R
and an S… ‘cause you’ve come this far

Anti capitalist caterpillars
x4

SPOKEN
The bushes and trees
Look strange to me
Pulsing and glowing
Blue and green
Is it the smoke? … or the LSD
It’s not a dream
It’s reality

That bush looks like a giant caterpillar
Stretching his body … over the lake
He’s looking over here
Can he see us?
Will he think that we are fake?

They bring a message don’t ignore
Taking over insect omnivores
They feast on money, any kind
Pounds dollars yen - yeah they don’t mind
Political and replicating
Their mission to be instigating
Revolution for all of you
Anti capitalism n’ anarchy too

Anti capitalist caterpillars
x4

I’m just a man - With no pretensions
Do my job and drink my beer
Don’t wanna to know about the Revolution
Don’t have feelings, Can’t shed a tear
But then I saw rise from the ground
Giant caterpillars green and brown
Glittering eyes saw through the lies
And I threw down my tools and marched to town

Anti capitalist caterpillars
Showed me how to live my life
Smash the state, The courts, the police force
No more money - no more strife

ONE CHORD
They don’t care about your fancy car
Holidays, clothes or furniture
The champagne drain, the private plane
Lies that raise the temperature

ONE CHORD
All just lies to keep you working hard
x4

SPOKEN
Bankers tip bin bags of 10s 20s 50s
Over the balcony into the square
Presses keep printing up
More stacks of 100s
Gold coins in buckets
Til cupboards are bare
No pockets - wallets - no bank accounts
No notes and coins
And no owed amounts
No debits, no credits, dead loans or bills
Just caterpillar tummies filled

SPOKEN
It was dark in the streets
And the boots they beat
Money Fires burn
And you feel the heat
Good to be warm
When you’ve been so cold
Watch the caterpillars swarm
And save the world

Crawling faster wriggle round
Giant caterpillars make no sound
50 foot long, pulsating faces
Eat the ruling classes, leave no traces
Feast on money they have stashed
Eat the buildings, eat the cash
Eat the weapons, eat the laws
Eat nuclear bombs, and eat the cause
Inequality poverty, caterpillars gonna set us free
Seem them feasting - on the dead
As they take the night - and turn it red
Blessed the day - when they hatched and spawned
Bringing us to the anarchist dawn
Watch them eviscerate the government
Inhale exhale freedom’s scent
On the White House lawn - the police are dead
giant liberators - wrap in silky threads

Suddenly still - If you could see inside
The chrysali - then you’d know why

Cells liquefy - So the worm can fly
Anti capitalist caterpillars - never die

They just transform so they can spring
Up from the earth on coloured wings
The butterflies they start to sing
The butterflies they start to sing

And from the sky there comes the song…
All the butterflies sing as one…

And I sing along…

Anti capitalist caterpillars
x4

Jody Barton was born and raised in the UK near London and now lives in Copenhagen. His rowdy and eclectic music calls to mind the post-punk and anarcho folk of Crass, Ian Dury & The Blockheads and just a little bit of Tim Curry.
